About the appeals board

The Immigration and Asylum Appeals Board is an independent quasi-judicial body that considers appeals against rejection decisions by the Directorate of Immigration. It comprises seven members. Each case is normally decided by three members. In deciding on appeals, the Board is the highest administrative authority in the field of immigration. Its decisions are final at that level.
