The office and its staff

The chairman of the board is Þorsteinn Gunnarsson. In addition to him, there’s a vice-chairman and a board member working full-time at the board. The board also employs two senior legal advisors and 17 lawyers in preparing rulings, along with two legal assistants. The staff of the board has diverse experience, including in immigration matters and decisions in this field, as well as human rights issues.

The Immigration Appeals Board is located at Skúlagata 17, 101 Reykjavík.

The office is open on weekdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Phone lines are answered from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
